Some fifteen years ago Jill Sleeman came to the village of
Mouressi, high up on the eastern slopes of Mount Pelion, and bought the fine
neo-classical building now known as the Old Silk
Store,.
Originally a building used by the
once-thriving silk industry of north Pelion, Jill has overseen an excellent
conversion into a Guest House offering five double or twin-bedded rooms, each
with its own private facilities, all but one of which are en-suite. There is also a separate, self-contained, self-catering

From the House there are splendid views both up the mountain, and out over the open Aegean, while the paved courtyard is perfect
for a little gentle sun-bathing, or relaxing in the cool of the evening. If guests want to cook, Jill has provided a 'summer
kitchen' - gas rings, sink and cooking utensils in a corner of the garden, where meals 'al fresco' can be prepared.

We suggest that guests at the Old Silk Store should
have a car, as the beaches at Papa Nero, Fakistra and Milopotomos should all be
visited, and while all can be reached on foot, the return journey up the
mountain can be more than slightly off-putting.
