Important declaration
An insurance policy can only provide cover in respect of an event/occurrence which is sudden, unforeseen and beyond your reasonable
control.
Therefore any facts known to you, which could possibly result in you having to make a claim, must be disclosed,
otherwise you may not be covered. In particular you must be able to make the following declaration for yourself and anyone
travdelling with you.
As far as I know neither I, nor my travelling companion(s), nor immediate family,
nor business associate(s), nor anyone I am visiting, nor anyone else for whom I would expect to be covered:
- are waiting for or has knowledge of the need for an operation, hospital consultation or any other hospital treatment or investigations
including the results of a routine test;
- have been seen by a specialist or been admitted to a hospital overnight in the last 12 months (other than for regular check
ups);
- have received treatment, or are waiting to receive treatment, including regular medication within the last 5 years.
- have any pre-existing and on-going medical condition that could reasonably be anticipated to give rise to a complication needing
medical intervention
prior to or during a journey (if in doubt check with your general practitioner).
- have been diagnosed by a registered general practitioner as having a terminal condition;
- know of any circumstances that could be reasonable expected to give rise to a claim under this policy.
If you cannot make this declaration when you take out the insurance, you must contact Healthcheck on 0845 408 0585
Please ensure that you read your policy carefully. If it does not meet your requirements, please return the policy, proof
of premium and any other relevant documents to us within 14 days of receipt and we will refund the premium in full, provided
you have not travelled or made a claim.
Policy Document:
this gives you full details of what is and is not covered and the conditions of cover. You must read the insurance policy carefully.
Conditions, Exclusions and Warranties:
conditions and exclusions will apply to the individual sections of your policy while general exclusions, conditions and warranties
will apply to the whole policy.
Property Claims:
these claims are paid based on the value of the goods at the time you lose them and not on a ‘new for old’ or replacement
cost basis. Your policy will set out what proof the insurer needs to support a claim.
Policy Limits:
most sections of the policy have limits on the amount the insurers will pay under that section. Some sections also include
other specific limits, for example, for any one item or for valuables in total. You are advised to check your policy if you
intend taking expensive items
with you.
Policy Excesses:
under most sections of the policy claims will be subject to an excess. This means that you will be responsible for paying
the first part of each claim. The amount you have to pay is the excess.
Reasonable Care:
you need to take all reasonable care to protect yourself and your property, as you would if you were not insured.
Complaints:
the insurance policy includes a Complaints Procedure which tells you what steps you can take if you wish to make a complaint.
Fraud:
it is a criminal offence to make a fraudulent claim.
Hazardous Activities:
if you are going to take part in hazardous activities where there is a risk of injury, check that your policy covers you.
Cooling Off Period:
Your insurance certificate contains a cooling off period of 14 days during which you can return the insurance document and
get a refund if you have a justifiable reason for being dissatisfied with the cover it provides The Insurance Policy will
be subject to English Law unless agreed otherwise.
PLEASE ENSURE YOU READ YOUR INSURANCE POLICY CAREFULLY
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE TERMS & CONDITIONS OF THE POLICY MAY RESULT IN COVER BEING RESTRICTED
Please also ensure that you obtain an E111/EHIC card from your local Post Office and carry this with you on your Houses of
Pelion holiday
